Although our Pre-breaking service is the last part of our rearing, you can, however, send non-RSK reared pups for a 8-12 week course, it’ll have your pup ready to break-in without the stress.

Junior Race Dog – PREBREAKING 10+ months of age
Now that the dog is 10 months old and chasing hard, it’s time to kennel him/her up and push them harder, they need to really earn it now! With longer drag lure runs, harder bullring sessions, all while kennelled like a race dog. This ensures your greyhound is ready for the racing life, and is a great way to prepare them for their upcoming set of trials at a breaking track.
They also get daily use of the 100m uphill sprint-lanes to finish off their rearing development, so even during this intense stage of education, your greyhound is finishing off its rearing phase.
Competitive Training – Will to win! PREBREAKING 10+ months of age
Now it’s time to ensure your greyhound only has eyes for the lure, and won’t be a shy type, or worse, a fighter!
Along with the drag lure runs vs 1, I also introduce them to our “Tenacity Tweaker”, basically a large t-section with a teaser either side of the cross section, separated by a fence. The dogs think they’re competing for the same lure, as they pull their lure, the elastic cord fights back, making them want the lure even more.
Advanced Box Work – Pinging The Lids! PREBREAKING 10+ months of age
By now your pup chases like a demon, and is a well adjusted, balanced lure seeking machine! But we all know races are won and lost at the starting boxes. This is where quick start boxes are critical to getting a dog to ping-out.
Treats are given after each time the dog forces the lids open, chases and grabs and doesn’t let go of the lure, only to eat his treat.
Ready For Breaking – PREBREAKING 10+ months of age
In the last week of prebreaking, we fully clean your dog out, go see a leading muscleman to check for any hidden injuries, then begin breaking trials, or send the greyhound to your breaker.
